Personalize Your Chat Room Settings and Profile (Name and Picture)

In this article, learn how to:

Manage Profile Settings

You can find your "Profile" under the Settings section at the bottom left corner of the Warrior Trading platform (see 1). The screenshot below displays the current settings and how they look.

Toggle switches highlighted in pink with a corresponding check mark indicate a feature is enabled.

Always remember to click Save before exiting this section to retain your settings for all future sessions (see 2).

We will review the functions for each of the settings throughout the remainder of this article.

Change Your Chat Room Name

To change your chat room username, please go to your Profile under Settings on the bottom left (see 1).

From there, you can put in a request for name changes with the Edit function (see 2):

Note: if you do not see the these functions, press the Up/Down arrow on the top right of your profile shown in the image above to bring them back up.

When you first see your profile, you should see the change name menu open to select the Edit button to submit a request to edit your display name.

The display name can only be changed to a real version of your own name, such as your initials or a shortened version of your name. The last name can only display a maximum of 3 characters. (ex: Ross Cam can be changed to Ross C but not DayTradeWarrior).

Name change function:

Edit: This is the first time you are applying for a name Edit.

Retry Edit: This means you can use that function to select

Delete: Delete your name submission to edit again

Note that a moderator needs to review each submission, and it can take about 12-24 hours (weekends not included) to have this reviewed and applied to your account. If you have Support Room access, you can also ask the moderator in that room to review your name change when the Support Room is open.

Here are some of the states of the name approval indicator to showcase what stage your name change approval is at:

Upload or Change Your Chat Room Profile Picture

Images uploaded as a chat room profile picture or "avatar" must be a .jpg or .png file type, less than 1 Mb, and less than 200x200 pixels. Square images work best.

If you need help resizing your image, please see this guide.

  1. Go to the bottom left of your chatroom and click on your "profile" section.
  2. Select Upload to upload an image for the first time (or Update if you are changing the image).
  3. Select the  .jpg or .png  image file from your computer that you wish to use.
  4. Save your profile.

Images must not mimic any of our chat room badges (listed here). Any member who would like to apply for a profitability badge must do so through the application page here. Profile images must also not contain the Warrior Trading logo, so as to not mimic the badges assigned to chat room moderators and educators.

Notifications

Closes after: This allows you to select how long it will take for visual alerts to disappear from your screen.

  • Note that if an announcement notification goes away too quickly, you can always extend the time or simply review the announcement in the Announcements widget (found in the upper right portion of the Warrior Trading platform). Announcement notifications are meant to provide a quick, at-a-glance summary. To view the details of the announcement, go to the Announcements widget; see our guide on that here

Screen Position: Determines the location where the Notification will appear on your screen.

Display Connection Errors: Notifications that indicate network or system instability.

  • We do not suggest turning off this function unless you are certain there is no actual issue with your platform. If toggled off, you will no longer have disconnect or connection errors displayed on your window.
  • Please make sure your clock is synced (click here for instructions), which helps confirm if your connection is lagging behind.

Alert Volume: Determines the audio alert volume. Alert volume can also be adjusted via the Alert Volume shortcut from the left-hand menu.

On-screen Persistence: Allows you to make Alerts Sticky (persist until you close them) or Temporary. You may find Sticky alerts are helpful if you happen to be looking away from your screen when the broadcast starts.

Audio Notification: Use if you want an audio notification when a banner notification is triggered.

We review how to use Notifications in this article.

Pop Up News Detail in a New Browser Window: Toggle switch allows you to open a new browser tab when you click on a news alert.

Window Settings

Chat Timestamp Timezone - How to Adjust your Timezone.

If you are subscribed to scanners, the displayed timezone is defaulted to the exchange's server time, which is EST/ New York.

While your scanners will remain connected to the EST/New York timezone, you can adjust your chat room timezone to either match the scanner or your local computer clock.

To adjust your timezone for chat rooms using your local computer time:

  • Click Profile on the left-hand side of the screen
  • Then look under the Notification and Window settings section
  • Change the Chat Timestamp Timezone to Local
  • Click Save

Note that changing this time zone is only for the chat room dialogue and does not adjust the Scanner or Chart time zone. Chart Time zone can be changed by clicking the bottom right of your chart to click the Chart and pull up the time-zone adjuster. You must do this for all your charts and then save your layouts.

Chart and Scanner Data Frequency

For the best experience, keep your data updates setting as Real Time. However, if you are using an old/slow computer, then you can reduce this to 1/2 or 1 second to try to get a better experience with our platform or troubleshoot issues per our guide here.

Stock Quote Widget Settings

  1. Pop Up News Detail in a New Browser Window
    • If on, it will pop out news articles from the quote widget to a new browser window.
    • If off, it will open up your news article in a new tab on the same browser window.
    • By default, this setting is set to on.
  2. $Cashtags go to Quote Website.
    • By default, this is turned off
    • When turned on, clicking on a $Cashtag (e.g., $SPY) will open a new browser tab to display the quote page. Turning it on also disables function #3 (Quote Widget Reminder for $Cashtags), such that clicking on a $Cashtag no longer forces a link to the quote widget.
    • If you have a linked quote widget in your layout, this function will still work.
  3. Quote Widget Reminder for $Cashtags
    • This setting will display a pop-up message when you click on a $Cashtag without a linked quote widget. This is on by default.
    • If you have a quote widget open, you will be reminded to link it with the color link function.

We go over the use of the Stock quote widget and how to add it to your platform our article here.

Auto-Load Today's Data

This function allows your platform to load all of today's data for any widget you are using. It loads all data as soon as you scroll past the first 30-50 lines of the widget. This is useful for reviewing the chat history or today's scanner history.

WARNING: Using this features can bog down some older computers, please keep this function off by default or if you notice a big slow down in your computer speed.

Auto Join Stream

By default, your Profile settings are set to automatically start the live stream (if one is available) when you enter a room or when a new stream is started and you are already in the room.

If you want to maintain control and manually initiate the live stream at your convenience, simply toggle off Auto Join Stream in your Profile Settings, which are found at the bottom left under Profile.

Learn more about using our chatroom live streams and all the functions for the live stream in our article here.
